Which Sports Glasses Should You Choose for Tallinn Marathon 2026? Our KIIRUS Running Glasses Review

02 Sep 2026

The right glasses can make a difference

When preparing for a marathon, most runners think about shoes, nutrition, clothing and training. Glasses are often somewhere lower on the list. But after several hours on the road, good sports glasses become much more noticeable — especially when the sun is strong, the pace is high and you simply want your equipment to stay out of your way.

The Swedbank Tallinn Marathon 2026 takes place on 11–13 September, with the marathon distance covering 42.195 km.

So which KIIRUS glasses would we choose for the race?

We took a closer look at three models: VITO, AURA and SIGMA.

KIIRUS VITO - our choice for a focused marathon runner

If the main goal is simply to run, VITO is the model that stands out first.

At just 22 grams, it is the lightest of the three. During a marathon, this matters more than it might seem. You don't want to constantly notice your glasses, adjust them or think about how they sit on your face.

VITO has a lightweight TR90 frame, an adjustable nose pad and a secure fit designed specifically for running and active sports. Its Category 3 Revo Silver mirror lens is designed for bright outdoor conditions.

KIIRUS AURA - when adjustability matters

AURA takes a more versatile approach. At 35 grams, it is still light enough for long-distance running, but its main advantage is flexibility.

The adjustable nose pads and temples allow you to fine-tune the fit, while the interchangeable lens system gives you more options for different weather and light conditions. The standard setup includes a Category 3 grey lens and a clear Category 0 lens for lower-light conditions. Photochromic and R/S lenses are also available separately.

For a runner who trains throughout the year, this versatility can be more important than saving a few grams.

KIIRUS SIGMA - the versatile all-rounder

SIGMA sits close to AURA in terms of weight, at 36 grams, but has a slightly more classic sports-glasses design. It is built as a universal model for running, cycling, skiing, tennis and other outdoor activities.

The adjustable nose pads and temples make it possible to personalise the fit, while interchangeable lenses allow the glasses to be adapted to different conditions. SIGMA comes with a Category 3 grey REVO lens and a clear Category 0 spare lens.

One detail we particularly like for racing is the additional soft competition nose pad. The silicone nose pad is designed to provide extra comfort and grip during intensive use.

So, which one would we take to Tallinn Marathon?

If we had to choose one model specifically for the 42.195 km race, our pick would be VITO.

The reason is simple: for a marathon, we value comfort and low weight above extra features. At 22 grams, VITO is clearly the lightest option, and its running-focused design makes it a natural fit for race day.

But that doesn't make AURA or SIGMA worse choices.

If you want the lightest and simplest option, choose VITO.

If you want more adjustability and lens options, choose AURA.

If you want a versatile all-round sports model with an additional competition nose pad, choose SIGMA.

One final piece of advice

Whichever model you choose, don't make race day the first time you wear your new glasses.

Take them on a few longer training runs first. Check how they feel after one, two and three hours. Make sure they stay in place, don't create pressure points and work well with your running posture.

On marathon day, the best sports glasses are the ones you don't have to think about.

See you on the streets of Tallinn - and good luck with your race!
